| I don’t think your post is offensive though others might find it, for lack of better words, misplaced here. This is so because we all know the purpose behind the creation of this site – i.e. to exchange materials, information and thoughts about music without any string attached. Anyway the information you narrated is well noted.
While on this subject, let me just thank again the good people behind this site. I admire no end the sharing of music being done here. I am thrilled to see how all admins and senior members share here their treasured possessions unselfishly and generously. I requested the “Save The Last Dance For Me” and it was immediately granted. Little did I know that the vynil of this song is now pegged at PHP 1,400 at eBay. Because of that, I am now a kind of ashamed to make another request. Of course I have tried to look for the requested songs in an effort to share also in this forum but the swiftness with which Watchlover and others have granted most of the requested songs is unmatched. Kudos to all!

| For me,250 per song is ok,as long as digital quality ang copy.Kasi nga naman, treasure na yan kung tutuusin.May mga OPM HTF sa request section, paki check dencio kung meron ang mga yan sa friend mo,that's also a gauge kung gaano ka extensive yung archive ng friend mo. | |

| mawalang galang lang po sa lahat and kay dencio, this is my unsolicited advice, 1000 pesos per album or 250 per song is not a bit of a rip-off, it's a total rip-off. why? you only get a CDR or an mp3 at 1000 pesos you can buy the real deal - the going price (even lower) for a truly rare OPM LP - at 500pesos you can buy the real deal of a rare opm 45 (if its pinoy rock then much higher). I'd rather hold the real 'mona lisa" than a CDR replica. It's human nature that prices go up when there are people who patronize it. mahaba ipaliwanag, ang punto ko ay kapag alam ng isang seller na ang hanap mo ay "RARE" - watch the price skyrocket in seconds! kapag may kumakagat sa 250 per song, prices will remain high becoz of human greed. it's my dilemma re my htfs, hindi kse ako ang nagririp, kaya even my suking ripper found a lucrative business in selling CDRs of my rare stuff, and i don't want to fan his greed. just my unsolicited advice, of course there's no stopping you if you want to spend. Ang sakin lang at that price go for the REAL DEAL! - watchlover wrote:

| i totally agree with you derf ... kaya nga as i told dencio about the songs (album) i was looking for and i know na it is very rare, i would wait na lang to remaster the album. I wont mind paying that much kung ang orig ang mapupunta sa akin talaga. Pero paying that much, and knowing na marami na ang magiging copy bakit ako magbabayad, eh di mag wait na lang ako na may magshare ng libre! lols Seriously, i dont buy it. Denz, no offense, you already said it is a rip off, but i dont understand why advertised sa thread.... and d2 pa sa hard2find forum, na parang unfair di ba? Kasi karamihan ng mga members d2, they are sharing their collections, tapos hindi namin alam na baka yung sinasabi mong guy eh nakakahanap din ng mga songs na rare d2, tapos ibebenta nya ng ganoon kalaki sa hindi aware about this forum na pwede nilang makuha na libre kung members lang sila... I hope na understand why I didnt take your offer kahit na talagang gustong gusto ko ang album ni Pops. And to derf, I do understand you more than ever when u said na ayaw mo ma re upload or ma repost ang mga rare collection mo dahil nakakatakot na mapunta sa mga nagbebenta ng pirated cd lang. Dahil kung ire reupload nila .... anyone can just download it ..mawawala ang value ng pagiging rare. And I wanna thank you for sharing with us yung mga rare collections mo talaga... Highly appreciated! And totally understand where you are coming from. | |

No problem there derf, you gave a very good advice.I just made a comment sa price, pero I have no intention to buy naman.Well,it's the choice of the buyer, depende na lang kung gaano kagusto ito nung naghahanap.Ang iniba lang siguro it's not an official copy(just like what you said),pero in my case, pag may nagustuhan akong cd(official release and I really like it a lot),yung price secondary na sa akin ,thanks for the advice and concern for possible buyers

| I totally agree with Derf regarding this matter. I'd rather pay to have the 'real deal' with me rather that a cdr. At that price, which I find way too expensive, dapat nasa akin yung original. | |

| just an addendum to your discussion.
Having the original and a replica is a world of difference.
Note that record companies re-issue back catalogues BUT you should give them enough reason why they should re-issue.
I for one agree in buying the original as it never devaluates (except if there are re-issues being done) A perfect example is the CD "ANGIE" by Angela Bofill. I remember collectors selling the original press at sky high rates and then after several years Japan re-issued the same album without changes except for the digital remastering. then the price of the original press dipped.
To keep things in perspective, everything has its price, its up to the people to agree on a workable rate.
As for replicas or duplicates let me tell that these have no monetary value except for human interest which is SENTIMENTAL VALUE.
To sum it up, give the record companies enough reason to re-issue and they will follow you.
