How do you organize your MP3 collections?

How do you sort your MP3s? Do you put them in one big folder? Do you segregate them by era? By genre? Hope to hear from you guys para I'll have an idea as to how to put my MP3s in order ... Thanks!

Ako naman naka-save sa My Music then naka-folder by Album naman... regarding naman sa mga na-DL kong songs sa Filca, Multiply & dito sa H2F, na tig-iisa lang na trip ko... naka-save sila sa isang folder... 4 example for the month of January, Ang title ng Folder na yun is "MP3 Download January 2008" after the month end, I will save it na sa playlist ko... Winamp pala ang gamit ko, Meron kasing Auto-Tag yung Winamp, cya yung magdi-distinguish kung anong/sinong... title, artists, album, year, genre & all info... minsan pag duda ako sa tagging nya, ako na mismo nag ta-tag ng song(s), hindi kasi 100% tama yung Auto-tag, then from that pwede ko ng i-sort yung songs in any order ko gusto...

Hmmmmnnnn .... interesting idea ...

Iniipon ko lahat ng nadd/l ko dito sa htf then pag medyo nakakarami na ko,, ibuburn ko siya sa cd.. kung hindi pa ko nakakaraming download, nilalagay ko muna siya sa phone ko.. hmm, by music genre yung music folder ko sa pc ko..

halos pareho siguro tayo, Robin... by genre, then by artist, then by albums.

ako inabot ng 1 year para lang maayos mga mp3's folders ko... ngayon naman mga info naman abt the song ang pinagkakaabalahan... marami pa kasi akong mp3's na walang tag... or mali ang naka-tag... naka-save ngayon sa playlist ko is nasa 25,592 na... pwera pa mga christmas & other songs na di ko masyadong kailangan sa playlist ko ngayon. Kaya ako Tip ko lang sa inyo... pag my bago kayong mp3 na na-DL or ni-ripped... i-save nyo na sa folder na desire nyo then lagyan nyo na ng Tag... (it will help u better 2 find it easy & minimal in time)...

FOR EASY RETRIEVAL AND LISTENING PLEASURE LANG YUNG CLASSIFICATION KO...

And 1 thing pa pala... yung mga doble-dobleng mp3's nyo... delete na ninyo para mabawasan ang space ng HD nyo... tapos umpisahan nyo ng i-burn sa Cd's 4 back-ups like yung kay cent nka-dvd... or sa mga file storage...

This is how I organize my collection.
1. For foreign artists, I organize them according to Artist > Name of Album
2. If it's a soundtrack, I place it under a folder Soundtrack > Name of Album
3. OPM is another matter. They are placed under OPM > Name of Artist > Album
4. If a song appears in other compilations, I remove from the playlist all the other instances and retain those that fall under the artist.
5. For a song that appears in multiple compilations (e.g. single only), I retain the song that appears in the earliest compilation.
6. All other songs not in compilations/albums are placed under Assorted.

I use the program MediaMonkey to organize my mp3/wma files. This way, it's easy to sort and search my library. I can search by Artist, Title, Album and Genre. I see to it that all songs have filenames in "Artist - Title" format and properly tagged before entering them into the library. With this organizer, I can easily find and delete duplicate titles and choose only the best quality recordings.

In my hard disk, I have folders according to the music source like Filca, H2F Forum, Multiply, Imeem, Limewire, Ripped (personally) etc.

For Genre, I classify my music as Pinoy/Korean/Japanese/Thai/etc and for English titles... Soundtrack/Christmas/Gospel/Instrumental/Pop/Acapella/Dance/Children/and "Others"

I use Tag&Rename program to tag my mp3s/wma files. I back up my collection on DVDs in case something happens to my hardisk.

Ako i sort according decades - 60s 70s 80 90s and beyond,
then pagtapos,i sort it out according to genre, love songs, dance, etc
but with OPM i just keep them all in one folder simply entitled OPM

pare... try using otsdj... yun ang ginagamit ko--- actually medyo mahaba ang proseso pero it's worthj it--- naka organize siya--- tapos pag nagplayback ka tuloy tuloy ang segue ng songs--- actually yun din ang ginagamit ng mga FM stations dito sa pilipinas gaya ng 96.3 wrock... ifm--- etc... kasi may sariling intelligence yung software... yun nga lang--- talagang mag aallot ka ng kaunting time to organize it--- sa una lang naman yun pero once na ok na--- dagdag ka na lang ng dagdag...

I have decided to make my OtsDJ 1.75.008 loader available, I've tested it on two PCs and it works great.
It bypasses the temp licence limitations (starting nag, date expiration) and of course enables the usage of the plugins.

Step 1 : Make sure you have a CLEAN installation, the loader absolutely needs the ORIGINAL, UNMODIFIED exe, here is the link to the full setup :

Step 2 : Double Click on CleanTempLicence.reg to and press "Yes" to add the info to the registry.

Step 3 : You have to install the leaked temp licence, by running the proggy and selecting Enter/Edit, then pasting
the license from the licence.txt and pressing OK. It should be accepted.

Step 4 : The program also requires a machine licence, so press Obtain, then OK. It must have an option to "Create temp

licence", press it to create one, then press "Use temp licence" and wait out the nag until the proggy starts up, then close

it.

Step 5 : Extract the OTSDJ.1.75.008.loader.by.FOFF.exe in the program's folder and each time use it to start up the program.

Also update any shortcuts you use to this loader instead of the original exe.

Tsk tsk tsk, it should work great now. If it doesn't , I promise I will change my avatar to the most stupid pic I can find !

IMPORTANT !!! : Don't go to Help-->Module Licensing or Help-->Licensing, cause the licenses are gonna be re-checked !!!

P.S.: There will certainly be some virus warnings for the loader, ignore them.

and one more thing... may search capabitlity siya na very sensitivie sa letters... for example--- nagtype ka ng liv--- lalabas lahat (in an instant) ang songs na may liv gaya ng i live for your love--- living on the edge... etc--- at in alphabetical order--- kaya talagang no hassle gamitin...
