| Ningas Cogon literally means "grass flash-fire".
Figuratively, it means unenthusiastic. It refers to a person who is enthusiastic about something momentarily and briefly but then he loses interest. It's one of our failings as a people. | |

| Hehehe….this is tough. The Filipino word “sayang” has no English equivalent. It may loosely mean “too bad” or “what a waste”.
But when you use it as a verb (nanghihinayang), it means regretting.
